From July 15-17, 2009, nearly 7,400 representatives of the sportfishing industry converged on the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla., for ICAST 2009, the world’s largest sportfishing tradeshow. With a sold-out show floor for the eighth consecutive year, ICAST 2009 had 396 exhibitors filling 1,200 booths. The show was host to more than 2,300 buyers and more than 525 registered members of the media. More than 700 attendees from 63 countries attended ICAST. ICAST 2009, produced by the American Sportfishing Association (ASA), covered 400,000 square feet of the convention center.

2009 New Product Showcase – ICAST’s Flagship Feature
In 2009, 208 companies entered 600 of the industry’s newest innovations in gear and accessories in the New Product Showcase, ICAST’s flagship feature. The products in the New Product Showcase were entered into the “Best of Show” competition where buyers and members of the media judged each product based on its level of innovation, execution, workmanship and practicality to select “Best of Show” honors in 17 categories, as well as the overall “Best of Show” winner.
Industry Breakfast
More than 500 people attended the Industry Breakfast. In their comments, ASA President and CEO Mike Nussman; ASA Board of Directors Chairman and ZEBCO Brands President Jeff Pontius; Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation President and CEO Frank Peterson; and former Michigan Governor John Engler, current president of the National Association of Manufacturers, outlined the state of the industry.

ICAST 2010 will be held July 14-16, 2010, at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nev. To exhibit at ICAST 2010, please submit an exhibit space contract.
